Back home with Micke!

It was a great trip! Totally magnificant. But oh it's good to be home, sleep in your own bed, take a nice shower in your own shower ... And to see Micke. Even if it is horrible to be apart the feeling of seeing each other again is so the best, feels like when you just met and everything is great. 5 more hours and he will be back from work again, yej! I love hugs and kisses!

So the trip was totally worth the money. A bit sad of course was that I got some sort of flue in Norway and had problems sleeping the first nights so I was not in the mood I would like to have been in. I am happy for both my friends, Dagny in Norway and Melle in Uppsala, they both seem to be great and very happy. And they were both great guestreceivers!

We went for a walk in very windy weather and then we had some picnic!
We also drove to the snowy mountains close the where Dagny lives, since we never have seen snow in our lives...

On the way to Uppsala we did something Swedish. We ate meatballs at Ikea. But did not buy anything.

Uppsala is a beautiful city, would like to live there some day.

More foodpictures from the foodfreak! This was among other things what I ate on Saturday in Stockholm.

And this was all I bought during the trip. The only 2 things for me were the flip flops from Cubus in Norway and a lip balm. The Nike bag for Micke, and also the candies. Oh, the rest of the food stuff was for me. I found a lot of lovely clothes for the baby, but I was strong and did only buy 2 things. Then I also realised it is still 3,5 months until it hopefully arrives and I will just buy the wrong things. But the body I bought is cute, it says " Mum is lovely, dad is great, I am both". And I am sure that will be true! The book seems also really good, it's thick and very smart, and was on sale and cose only 12 euros.

Today I clean, cook, wash clothes and buy food.

One funny question I get now when I am pregnent is how the baby is feeling and if it is okay. It is quite hard for me to tell, I can feel the kicks, but I can't know how everythigns is with the unborn life inside of me...

Our trip starts today

The weekend at the airport was quite dead, no big panic stress chaos days, even if that is what was expected. Sad to be inside when there has been such a great summer weather.

Today me and Lee are going to drive to Turku, from there we take the boat to Stockholm and drive to Norway to Dagny, stay there 2 days, drive to Uppsala and visit Melle and do some shopping in Stockholm. Wil be back next Sunday evening, so i guess my blog will be quite dead.

When me and Micke met I went to Turku to study and he lived in Helsinki so we met around every second/third weekend. Then when I moved to Helsinki I was quite busy and did a lot of things and we did not see each other so often. This last 6 months I think we have been with each other almost all the time. Will be weird to be away from him for a week. After 2 days I will miss him so much. No hugs, no kisses...

The short Stockholm visit

So, now I am more alive. I was not too bad against Micke yesterday, he brought me a blue nice balcony flower and he had cleaned the toilet so how could I have been?

The one day in Stockholm trip was a study trip for people studying economics. We visited Riksbanken (the swedish central bank) and institutet för näringslivsforskning. It was actually very interesting. And then I ate a lot of nice food, especially nice since I did not have to make it myself. And Stockholm was so springy and beutiful. I like Stockholm.

Unhealthy candies in the train on the way back. Have started to like candies and dislike chocolate (at least a bit). But these candies don't have any weird colorings, so a plus for that.

Back after 44 hours.

Back in Helsinki after my Helsinki-Stockholm-Turku 44 hour trip. Tired as never before. Feel sorry for Micke. I am not going to be an easy person to be with today, would like to be, but don't have the energy.

Will try to sleep now and then start finishing my paper. It was a great trip, will post pictures later.

Seasickness

I feel sick. It was wavy on the sea today. We bought the car full of alchol. Full. At least 20 packages with 24 cans. And 10 liter vodka. WIll update more some other day.

Tallin next

Today me and my mom are going to buy a lot of alchol in Tallin (cheaper there), and since my mom's policy is never to have too little, I guess we are going to buy all too much.

Messilä

Today we drove to Messilä (1,5h from us) to snowboard. And it was so worth it. I miss snowboarding. My legs and foot took the pain for not having snowboarded in 2 years, but after a while it got better. Today was a really wintery day, between -10 and -15 and the sun was shining. It was not too cold, just beautiful, but a bit icy. It was a really great day. I would like to go to for example Åre and ski next year, or somewhere in the Alps.

Eating a healthy lunch in 2009. Luckily I did not promise to become healthier, I hope. We were well dressed. The view was great! And the weather too.

Great food in Milan

Tiramisu and desert table. After the food they came with the tray so how could you say now. The tiramisu was so, so great. Like air.

The best pizza ever. Only the dough and mozzarella in the owen and then later the parma ham was put on and also rucola and tomatos. So good.

Milan - not at all as planned

Wau. Have had such a surreal weekend, it has been incredible, both in a good and bad way.

The start of the Milan trip did not at all go as planned, since I did not have my pasport with me (seriously tought I could go to Italy with my drivers license - you can't, not with ryanair). So I could not get on the flight (we had been driving for 3 hours there). I take the car and start coming back home, really sad, talk to Micke and get the great idea to try to get another flight.
I drove back to Helsinki, 2 hours, and got a Finnair flight from Helsinki to Milan, so I was there 5 hours later than the others and a lot poorer. It was such a nightmare day, these things never happen to me.

Today when we got back everybody had to suffer since the car was not in Tampere, but in Helsinki, so we took buses and trains and ooohhhh. And we got up at 3.15 to get to the plane that left Milan 6.30. Deadtired.

But the trip was so worth the money, we had so much fun, have lauged as an idiot, eaten great food, drunk good wine, a lot, coffees and some shopping.

My travel companions: my mom, her friend and his wife. The friend, Risse, was like a clowny 5 year old kid. Very entertaining.


The weather was great: Sunshine, around 13 degrees, no rain. Just lovely. The cathedral is called Duomo and we climed up 150 stairs to get to the roof. The view was of course amazing, but I was so afraid of being so high up so did not enjoy it so much. Prefer the ground.
Shop til you drop, at least almost. Did not buy so much, but better that way. This is a lovely baby colored shirt and a new witnerfall jacket. Trying to prove that I look like a russian tourist with the fur (luckily you can remove it).

Milan tomorrow

Milan is the shopping heaven for designer clothes. If I was rich I would maybe buy some design stuff, but I am not, and I don't like putting money just on brands. So I will eat icecream, drink wine and eat mozzarella and just enjoy life. And off course, act as a guide to my mom.

Exciting for Milan

The happy news came true. I am going to Milan in November, for 1,5 days. Yeah. Never been to Italy. Excited. Yes!

Lovely seing Dagny and Lee. So nice to just be. Love it. And I feel like smiling at Micke agian. Lovely. Soon off to some interval and middle body training. I am going to get into shape, and tomoroow I won't be able to move.
